Couture Designer Linda Cunningham Launches Houston Boutique

HOUSTON (March 2007) - Florida-based couture fashion designer Linda Cunningham opens an eponymous boutique in Houston’s trendy River Oaks area inside “The Loop.” The boutique features Cunningham’s couture collection, which is shown during fashion week in New York City, along with ready-to-wear lines from other well-known designers, jewelry, handbags and accessories.

Cunningham launched her career in Jacksonville, Florida more than 20 years ago by designing custom clothing for a loyal following. Her line of gowns, cocktail dresses, suits and special occasion dresses was selected to show at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City in 1996. Retailers and boutiques across the country fell in love with her talents and the sophistication and whimsy in her collection. Cunningham currently shows at the Essex House Central Park South.

“Many successful trunk shows in Houston produced a devoted following of clients for me,” said Cunningham. “It was only natural to open a second location in a city where fashion takes center stage and the people are great,” she added.

The shop at Linda Cunningham, located at 3310 Edloe Street, is just as fashionable as the garments on the racks. An eye-catching lime green and bronze storefront houses a two-story boutique with more than 4,300 square feet of shopping finery. A Saternia tile walkway embedded with marble diamonds greets clients upon entering while a curved Venetian plaster covered taupe wall complements the copper covered granite counters which sparkle with a hint of turquoise. Modern serpentine lighting mixes with hand-blown multicolor glass pendants providing an eclectic and sophisticated feel. Clients will find generous fitting rooms with handmade metallic curtains.

The first floor features ready-to-wear “special item pieces” by well-known designers hand-selected by Cunningham. The second floor holds Cunningham’s collection pieces, evening wear, cocktail dresses and special occasion dresses as well as luscious European fabrics for made-to-order garments. Cunningham’s shops are known for providing top-notch personal service along with top-secret records of clients likes, dislikes and sizes to ease consultations on additional visits.
